As a long-time aficionado of word games, I recently delved into Scrabble Blast Online, a game that promises a fresh twist on the classic Scrabble experience.

Forming a Word

Playing Scrabble Blast Online involves scoring words on the game board. To form a word, simply click on a tile to select it and then click on another to begin building your word. Once you’re satisfied with your word, press the “Score” button to tally up your points.

Words Accepted

Only words with three or more letters are accepted. The tiles must connect but can do so in any direction – forward, backward, up, down, or diagonally.

Points

Points are awarded based on several factors:

  • Tile Value: The numerical values on the tiles.
  • Bonus Squares: The special squares on which the tiles sit. Combining word bonus squares can multiply your score significantly. For instance, a word on a DOUBLE WORD and a TRIPLE WORD square will result in a QUINTUPLE WORD BONUS, multiplying the word’s value by five.
  • Length of Word Bonus: Extra points are awarded for longer words – 10 extra points for a 4-letter word, 20 for a 5-letter word, and so on, escalating by 10 points for each additional letter beyond seven.
Interestingly, even short words can be highly valuable if they include high-scoring letters placed on key bonus squares. For example, “QUIZ” can be quite lucrative, and “QUIZZES” even more so!

Tiles

The tiles are drawn from a standard Scrabble bag, including blanks, and are randomized as they appear.

Exchange

You can exchange your tiles once per game, and once per level in Puzzle and Action modes. When you exchange, the entire board is refreshed with new random tiles.

Tips

  • Look for Prefixes and Suffixes: Utilize common prefixes and suffixes like ‘PRE’, ‘RE’, ‘ED’, ‘ER’, and ‘S’ to extend words and reach bonus squares.
  • Find A Letter, Then Maneuver It: Spot high-scoring letters like W or Z and try to position them on 3 LETTER bonus squares. Then, create a word that spans a TRIPLE WORD square for maximum points.
  • Find A Word, Then Maneuver It: If you identify a great word not sitting on bonus squares, create smaller words to maneuver it into a better position.
