fireboy-and-watergirl-4-the-crystal-temple

These two sure do seem to get into a lot of trouble! Fireboy and Watergirl have once again gotten lost in the vast halls of an ancient temple, this time in a crystal one. Fireboy and Watergirl: Crystal Temple takes a chip of of the old Valve block and uses a system of portals to add a new element of gameplay to what would normally be a series stretched too far.

The Crystal Temple is a dangerous place, and unfortunately it’s where Fireboy and Watergirl have found themselves. Platforming puzzles and deadly traps pervade the shining halls of this beautiful temple. Don’t get distracted by the scenery; it may just kill you.

Right off the bat you can tell that not everything is as simple as it looks. The levels are curiously devoid of the complex platforming and multiple levels that the environment usually has. This is because you must use portals to transport your characters to different parts of the level in order to reach the exit door. You can push objects through them as well, so don’t forget to experiment. Depending on which side you enter, you may end up in the right spot or in a deadly trap.

For the life of us, we can’t figure out why this game is so addicting. Hours upon hours can be spent navigating your tiny duo through mazes and mind-boggling puzzle schemes until your brain practically melts. The addition of portals gives this game a serious boost, so shine on, you crazy diamond collector. You’ll have double the fun with this fourth installment to the Fireboy and Watergirl series.
